In compliance with the regulations of the State Bank of Vietnam regarding adherence to domestic chip card standards and to enhance transaction safety and security as well as optimize the utility of card products, BIDV has been facilitating the transition to chip cards for customers in recent times. To ensure full compliance with these regulations, BIDV will deactivate magnetic stripe cards starting from December 6, 2024, under the following conditions:

(i) Customers holding magnetic stripe cards that have not been used for transactions within the past 12 months;
(ii) Customers holding magnetic stripe cards who have already been issued a virtual domestic debit card by BIDV;
✃ (iii) Customers holding magnetic stripe cards who have already been issued a chip-based domestic debit card.

We kindly request customers currently using magnetic stripe cards to switch to chip cards promptly to ensure uninterrupted service.
